Beginning in 2006 Gary and Sandy Young have been dedicated sponsors of Mozart on the Lake, an annual fundraiser hosted by famed Louisiana chef, John Folse at White Oak Plantation. As a celebration of food and music to benefit the Baton Rouge Symphony, the event is often held during the month of April, commemorating Mozart’s birth. The seated dinner is held outdoors, featuring dishes Austrian-inspired dishes. As guests are served, the symphony delights with classic Mozart arrangements from across the serene lake of the plantation.
Gary and Sandy have also been generous supporters of Mozart on the Lake during the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons. In 2010, however, an unexpected rainstorm forced promoters to cancel the dinner. Having already prepared the facility and the evening’s dishes, Chef Folse incurred a major loss, yet graciously allowed for the fundraiser to be rescheduled. Gary and Sandy look forward to further supporting Mozart on the Lake and the Baton Rouge Symphony.
To be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012, the upcoming Mozart on the Lake will include corporate-sponsored tables and an online silent auction.
